The ongoing Winter Session of Parliament witnessed an impassioned plea from BJD MP Chandra Shekhar Sahu concerning the critical issue of food safety. Sahu voiced his deep concerns regarding the prevalent issue of food adulteration on Monday.

Expressing disappointment over the insufficient measures to combat food adulteration, Sahu pointed out the lacunae in the current system. Despite existing protocols, he highlighted the ineffective implementation, citing insufficient staffing and systemic exemptions as primary hurdles.

Advocating for robust action akin to successful campaigns such as Clean India and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Sahu urged the Central Government to take concrete and stringent steps to tackle the issue. He underscored the imperative need for effective implementation and stringent measures to curb food adulteration.
