The Chhattisgarh government’s 'Mukhyamantri School Jatan Yojana' aims to create a better learning environment for children.
Under this scheme, 1,914 school buildings have been renovated, an official communiqué said on Monday.
Additional rooms are being constructed along with repairs and renovations. Renovation work includes roof repairs, wall painting, toilet refurbishment and overall beautification.
There are 29,162 schools registered under this scheme, and the cost of renovating these schools is approximately Rs 2,133.60 crore.
At present, the first installment of Rs 477.06 crore has been released to the districts. As of today, work in 1,914 school buildings has been completed, and work in more than 14,000 buildings is in progress, the communication said.
