The daily count of dengue cases has continued to fluctuate in the State with the Health department reporting 85 new cases of the vector-borne disease on Friday. On Thursday, the department had reported 62 new cases of the disease. Following the cases reported on Friday, the active number of dengue cases in the State is now 357.
According to information from the Health department, the cumulative number of dengue cases so far this season in the State is 2,633 out of which 2,261 patients have recovered. Out of the 85 cases reported on Friday, Pauri district has the highest number with 36 cases. Further, 14 cases were reported from Dehradun district, 12 from Nainital district, nine from Haridwar district, seven from Rudraprayag district, four from Udham Singh Nagar district and three from Champawat district. When it comes to the cumulative number of cases, Dehradun district has remained on top of the list with 957 cases followed by Pauri with 585. Similarly, the cumulative number of dengue cases in other districts is 438 in Haridwar district, 414 in Nainital district, 81 in Udham Singh Nagar district, 21 in Tehri district, 52 in Chamoli district, 45 in Champawat district, 21 in Rudraprayag district, 10 in Bageshwar district and nine in Almora district. No dengue cases have been reported so far from Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts. A total of 15 deaths have occurred from dengue in the State so far with 13 of these in Dehradun district and two in Nainital district.
