In a move to improve expertise at local level for artificial insemination of animals at local level, a 30-day, 11th Friendship Training Program under Gokul Mission Scheme concluded at Birsa Agriculture University (BAU) on Monday. During the programme a total of 447 persons get training in artificial insemination of animals from various districts of the State.
A total of 35 local unemployed youths from Ranchi, Hazaribagh, East Singhbhum, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Giridih, Gumla, Sahibganj, Jamtara, Latehar and Lohardaga districts participated in this month-long practical training program on the subject of artificial insemination of animals. Under the joint effort of BAU and Jharkhand State Implementing Agency (JSIA), the 11th Friendship Training organized under the Centrally Sponsored Gokul Mission Scheme.
In the closing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer, JSIA, PK Jha as the chief guest, threw light on the objectives of promoting artificial insemination of animals in Jharkhand. He said that the Government of India has praised the regular and successful conduct of friendship training in Jharkhand for achieving the 100 per cent target. He thanked the scientists of BAU and Veterinary Faculty for providing practical training facilities to a total of 447 people through 11 training programs and requested to train a total of one thousand trainees by the month of December this year.
On the occasion Dean Veterinary, Dr Sushil Prasad interacted directly with the trainees, discussed with them in detail about the whole month long training and motivated them to do artificial insemination work at local level in a good way and honesty. On the occasion, Director Extension Education, Dr Jagarnath Oraon, talked about artificial insemination of animals in the direction of promoting milk production in the State.
On this occasion, certificates and training kits were given to all the trainees by the guests.
Training In-Charge, Dr Alok Kumar Pandey said that after training all the equipment required for artificial insemination will be provided by the Government. During the training, the trainees were given practical information about artificial insemination, animal breed improvement, vaccination, animal feeding, ration balancing, animal health and housing, he added.
