Ruby Das, a resident of Jamshedpur, is beaming with renewed hopes for the future of her daughter. Her daughter Anjana Das will now be able to attend English medium school. Ruby Das was not able to send her meritorious daughter to a CBSE affiliated school due to financial constraints. The financial deterrent that people face in the path of providing better educational facilities towards their children has been done away with by the recent launch of the Schools of Excellence by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
While narrating how much of a difference will this move brings to the future of her daughter Ruby Das got emotional. This was a common scene at exam centres across the state today where the entrance for securing admissions to the SoEs got conducted.
It may be noted that the step to secure standardization in education and providing equal opportunities to students across all sections of the society through the launch of SoEs by the Chief Minister has been received well by the students of the state. Parents have come forward to extend their heartiest thanks to the government for taking this historic step.
There was an air of enthusiasm among the students regarding admissions to the Schools of Excellence (SoEs). A total of 37,309 students appeared in the entrance test for a total of 11,986 available seats.
