Three persons, including two children, were killed when a drunken driver’s car mowed them down in Gobara village under the Bikrampur police station of Angul district on Friday evening.
The children were playing in the village street along with their grandfather when the mishap occurred.
The driver of the car was nabbed by irate locals. Later, police reached the spot and rescued the driver.
In another incident, a couple was crushed to death by a truck under the Turekiela police station in Balangir district. A man was going with his pregnant wife to hospital when the mishap occurred.
