At Bokaro Music, dance and drama festival named 'Amrit Yuva Kalotsav 2023-24' being organized in Bokaro from June 28 to 30 under the joint aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Academi unit Chhau Kendra, Chandankiyari, Jharkhand and SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant ' was duly inaugurated by Dr. Sandhya Purecha, President of Sangeet Natak Akademi, Rajan Prasad, Executive Director (Personnel and Administration) of Bokaro Steel Plant and other guest artists by lighting the lamp at Sector 2 Art Center on Wednesday evening. Abhiram Bhadkamar, Ashish Kumar Mishra, Umakant Gundecha, Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary, Nandlal Nayak were also specially present on the occasion of inauguration. In her address, Dr. Sandhya Purecha threw light on the objectives of organizing by Sangeet Natak Akademi and underlined the works of Sangeet Natak Akademi in the development of music, dance and drama arts. She further said that to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence, Sangeet Natak Akademi is organizing Amrit Yuva Kalotsav across the country.
BSL's ED Rajan Prasad expressed his gratitude to Sangeet Natak Akademi for organizing this event in Bokaro and assured that BSL will cooperate in furthering this art journey. The inaugural session ended with vote of thanks by Sanjay Kumar Chowdhary (Bokaro), member of Sangeet Natak Akademi Advisory Committee. After the inaugural session, Siddharth Bose and Abhishek Gupta from West Bengal presented a duet of sarod and sitar respectively, accompanied by Arkdeep Das on tabla.
After this Manbhum Shiv Shakti Chhau and Paika Kala Kendra, Paika dance by artists from Jharkhand, Senabana Fulchand Chhau dance committee, Purulia Chhau dance by artists from West Bengal, Bharatam Academy of Fine Arts, Bharatnatyam dance by artists from Tamil Nadu and Karmaveer Jan Shikshan and The artists of Sanskriti Samiti, Madhya Pradesh enthralled the audience by staging Hindi play 'Inquilab Ka Sailab-Bhagat' under the direction of Karmaveer Singh Rajput. The stage was operated by Dr. Rajshree Jayanti who came from Ranchi. A large number of art lovers includingMedia coordinator Arun Pathak, Music Coordinator Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Prof. PL Varnwal, Sunil Kumar, Mrityunjay Bhattacharya were present on this occasion. Notably before the inauguration, a Kala Yatra was taken out from Sector 1 Ram Mandir Golambar to the venue Sector 2 Kala Kendra, in which about 300 artists including the chairperson of Sangeet Natak Akademi participated enthusiastically.
