Bairagarh police arrested two accused charged with attempt to murder, accused were hiding while trying to escape from Bhopal and were caught by the police; accused are habitual offenders and have been booked over a dozen times by the police.
Police said that on Friday Chandraprakash Peswani of Chanchal chauraha came to Bairagarh police station and reported that while carrying the tableau during Ganesh immersion at night, accused Johnson and his two friends Kohinoor alias Dinesh Yadav and Kuldeep came and attacked him with a knife in the stomach with the intention of killing him for dancing with him in the tableau and threatened to kill him.
The accused escaped the spot after the attack and police during investigation detained them. After the preliminary investigation, the police registered a case against the three accused.
Based on the complaint police registered a case under section 307, 506 and 34 IPC.
Instructions were given and following which a team was formed and the team was immediately sent to search for the accused and Johnson, Dinesh alias Kohinoor and Kuldeep were arrested.
More than a dozen cases of assault have been registered against the accused Johnson Joseph Edward in Kohefiza and Bairagarh police stations.
The condition of the victim is reportedly stable. He had not provided any old dispute with the attackers and claimed that the attack was not planned but the attackers were aware about the sharp edged weapons they were carrying and used the same to attack him.
