Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa said here on Monday that about one crore new voters were likely to be added in electoral rolls of the state.
He said those who attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2024 were eligible to be voters and their names would be added in the electoral rolls.
He said the final draft of the electoral rolls of the state would be published by January 5 next year.
The CEO said even after the publication of the final draft of the electoral rolls, fresh additions in rolls would be made for those who were left out.
He said during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, booth level officers would be deployed at each polling booth in all the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of UP.
He said in each polling booth the number of voters would be less than 1,500.
He said the names of the voters included and deleted from the electoral rolls at each of over one lakh polling booths in the state were available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer.
