On the guidelines of the Railway Ministry, Vigilance Awareness Week began in Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) here on Monday which will continue till November 5. On the first day, the officers and employees took a pledge to work with honesty and transparency and the oath, organised under the auspices of the Vigilance department of BLW, was administered by the General Manager (GM) Basudev Panda at the Administrative Building.
The purpose of the pledge is to strengthen the commitment of officers and employees to maintain honesty and transparency in all areas of their activities and to fight vigorously against corruption.
The oath was also administered to officers and their subordinates at workplaces and various departments.
At Administrative Building, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Sushil Kumar Srivastava, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Shishir Dutt, Principal Chief Materials Manager Rajneesh Gupta, Principal Chief Personnel Officer Ranvijay, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer Ajay Srivastava, Principal Chief Medical Officer Dr Devesh Kumar, Principal Chief Engineer Vinod Bampal, Inspector General-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Chief Vigilance Officer Pramod Kumar Chowdhary, Senior Deputy General Manager Vijay, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer Dharmendra Kumar and others were present.
During the week-long programmes, on November 1, a lecture on the topic ‘D&AR’ will be delivered by retired Senior Deputy Personnel Manager of Western Railways Shantanu Ambedkar apart from painting competition in Bal Niketan Vidyalaya, while on November 2, a debate competition will be organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, on November 3, an essay competition at St John’s School on the topic ‘say no to corruption, commit to nation’ for the employees apart from the message from BLW GM and on November 4, DG, RDSO will deliver a lecture.
