Rajbhasha: BLW GM honours employees, officers

The prize distribution and closing ceremony of Rajbhasha Pakhwara (Fortnight) was held at Technical Training Centre (TTC) auditorium in Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) here on Friday under the aegis of Rajbhasha department. Speaking as the chief guest, the General Manager (GM) Basudev Panda said just as BLW is making records for its products, in the same way it is also moving on the path of continuous progress in the direction of use and dissemination of the Rajbhasha (official language). He congratulated BLW on recently receiving the Railway Minister’s Rajbhasha Shield. He also said that the city of Varanasi has been the centre of Hindi as many litterateurs gained fame at the national and international level through their works and breathed new life into the freedom movement. “Therefore, our responsibility becomes even greater to ensure 100 per cent use of the Rajbhasha in our day-to-day work,” he said. Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Chief Mechanical Engineer (Service) Neeraj Jain gave detailed information about various programmes organised during the fortnight. A solo play ‘Sant Kabir’ was presented by Dr Ashta Bhuja Mishra, a retired employee of BLW and an expert in the drama genre. Thereafter, the GM honoured the employees and officers who did excellent work in the field of Rajbhasha by rewarding them. Principal Chief Materials Manager Rajneesh Gupta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Prabir Kumar Saha, Principal CPO Ranvijay, Senior Deputy General Manager Vijay along with the heads of other departments were also present. The vote of thanks was given by Senior Rajbhasha Officer Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh while the programme was conducted by senior translator Amlesh Srivastava.  Earlier, under the auspices of Rajbhasha department of BLW, the quarterly meeting of BLW Rajbhasha Implementation Committee was held under the chairmanship of the GM Basudev Panda. Chairing it the GM said that Hindi is the language of the people and appealed to the officers to discharge their administrative works in Hindi. “The dreams of freedom fighters will be fulfilled by discharging the official works in Hindi so that the benefits of the development can also reach the common man,” he said.
