Former JD(U) leader Alok joins BJP, takes swipes at Nitish Kumar

Saturday, 29 April 2023 | PNS | New Delhi

Former JD(U) leader Ajay Alok,  known to be close to the ex-JDU  president and Union Minister RCP Singh , joined the BJP on Friday in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Joining the BJP is like coming to a family, Alok said, vowing to contribute to the “Modi mission” for the development of the county.

Alok took a dig at  Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying he is an architect who is destroying his own work by compromising on law and order and  corruption.

He said the country  is today moving in the same direction as the prime minister. The former JDU leader joined the BJP  here at the  BJP headquarters .

Alok  was expelled by the JD(U), the ruling party in Bihar, last year as it believed him to be close to R C P Singh, the party’s former president who quit following a fallout with Nitish Kumar. RCP had  joined the Modi-cabinet and continued to be part of it against the wish of the JDU.  The JDU did not renew his Rajya Sabha tenure which led  to his exit from the cabinet.

Vaishnaw lauded Alok’s contribution and praised him as a sharp mind  who he said would contribute to party’s  growth.
