Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of North Eastern Railway (Varanasi Division) Vineet Kumar Srivastava conducted the window-trailing safety inspection of Varanasi City-Chhapra Junction railway section and reviewed the progress of works being done under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at Ghazipur City and Ballia railway stations on Saturday.
After reaching Ghazipur City railway station, along with senior Varanasi Division (NER) officers, the DRM thoroughly inspected the progress of ongoing state-of-the-art development works being done there at a cost of Rs 22.88 crore under ABSS and directed the concerned officers to complete all the work with quality within the stipulated time limit. Then, the DRM inspected station building, platforms, foot over bridge (FOB), food and vending stalls, waiting room, circulating area, entry and exit routes, cleanliness and maintenance etc. Besides, Srivastava also checked the security related relay room, IPS room, points crossing, key transfer, maintenance register, fire extinguishing equipment and various maintenance registers and directed to strictly follow the safety rules.
After reaching Ballia by inspection by special train, the DRM also inspected the beautification and redevelopment works being done at Ballia railway station with the cost of Rs 41 crore under ABSS. During the visit to Ballia station, he held a formal meeting with local MP Virendra Singh ‘Mast’ to discuss about construction of second entry gate at this station apart from its progress, improvement of the approach road to the station, façade and platform numbers 2 and 3, construction of toilets, renovation work of booking and parcel office, construction work of 12 metres wide FOB, passenger parking etc.
They also have a detailed discussion on the work plans for installing four lifts and escalators each.
Then the DRM inspected Ballia station and its security related equipment. During his inspection, Senior Divisional Engineer II Satyam Singh, Assistant Commercial Manager Ajay Kumar Suman, Public Relations Officer Ashok Kumar and other senior supervisors and station employees were also present.
