The Yogi Adityanath government is all set to give an impetus to Mission Shakti project in its second tenure as officials have been asked to prepare an action plan ensuring that all women of the state get the benefits of various government schemes and live their lives with dignity. This would be the fourth phase of Mission Shakti campaign.
During the last tenure, the Yogi government ran a massive awareness campaign across districts and women were connected with various beneficial schemes in the first, second and third phases of Mission Shakti. In the third phase, the Department of Women and Child Development and the Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition made over 28.32 lakh people aware of the schemes in four months till December 2021. "So far, over 10 crore people have been made aware about Mission Shakti across phases," a government spokesman said in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Under the campaign, women were made aware of various laws and provisions related to violence against women and children. Departments organised special programmes to educate people against harassment of women and children, domestic violence, drug abuse, trafficking, child marriage, discrimination, child labour and other exploitations. In the third phase of Mission Shakti, not only were women educated in Swavalamban (self-reliance), camps about various government schemes like Destitute Women Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojna were organised in which applications to get the benefits of these schemes were also accepted.
Government officials also organised various events like 'Haq Ki Baat Jiladhikari Ke Saath', 'Kanya Janmotsav', 'Swavalamban Camp', 'Legal Awareness Campaign', establishment of 'Gudda Guddi Board', honouring meritorious girl students and 'Gender Champions' to ensure all women were appreciated and made aware about their rights.
