Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that the results of sero-surveillance conducted recently showed that after the third wave of the COVID-19, the number of antibodies in the people had improved.
“Vaccination has proved to be very useful. It should be ensured that not a single resident of the state is deprived of the Covid vaccine,” Yogi said while reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state on Wednesday.
The chief minister said that the policy of aggressive testing and tracing, rapid treatment and rapid vaccination had yielded good results. He said that today various global organisations were appreciating the Covid management of Uttar Pradesh.
“When the first COVID-19 case was found in the state in March, 2020, we did not have the facility of testing. We had to get the sample tested at NIV, Pune. Today, samples are being tested in all 75 districts of the state,” the chief minister said.
“The situation of novel coronavirus infection is completely under control due to the steps taken by the state government to fight against the virus, including prevention and vaccination. Despite this, it is still necessary to be vigilant against this infection. Therefore, Integrated Command Centres should be kept running in all the districts so that people can contact if needed,” he said.
During the meeting, a presentation was also made by the additional chief secretary (health) regarding the prevention of novel coronavirus infection and the status of vaccination.
On this occasion, the chief minister was informed that 34 new cases of novel coronavirus infection had been reported in the state in the last 24 hours and during this period, 49 persons had been discharged after successful treatment.
At present, there are 354 active cases of novel coronavirus infection in the state.
The chief minister said that in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, a sad incident of fire in hospitals took place in many states of the country. He directed officials to ensure fire safety systems in all medical colleges and hospitals of the state were physically reviewed.
“Where there is deficiency or discrepancy, the system should be rectified immediately. This work should be done immediately as a campaign,” he said.
