In a tragic incident, two workers died after inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning a sewer line constructed in a government scheme in Rae Bareli on Tuesday. District Magistrate Vaibhav Srivastava and other officials rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation on Manika Road. The sewer line was constructed under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.
The workers were extricated from the sewer and rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared them dead. The deceased were later identified as Jogesh and Sanju Nagar and their autopsy was underway. Later, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the deaths and directed officials to extend all possible help to the families of the deceased.
Meanwhile in Ballia, three members of a family, including a father and a son, died in a road accident near Navratanpur Chatti in Sikanderpur police station area early Tuesday morning. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences on getting information about the accident and directed officials to extend necessary help to the family members of the victims.
As per reports, Manoj Kumar Rajbhar (35) of Milki Mohalla of Sikandarpur police station area was going to a kin's house at Maturi along with his nephew Rohit (16) and his son Alok (8) on a motorcycle. As he neared Navratanpur Chatti, a speeding truck coming from Belthara Road hit the bike. The collision was so powerful that all the three were badly crushed and died on the spot. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot after abandoning the truck.
Later the police reached the spot and rushed the victims to a hospital where they were declared dead. A case was registered against the truck driver at Sikanderpur police station and the bodies were sent for autopsy.
