Four and two wheelers drivers must maintain the standards of road safety. The license of irresponsible drivers must be cancelled by the District Transport Officer (DTO) of the district. The special monitoring committee members must visit the accident prone areas and submit the report to the district administration, said DC Nancy Sahay in the monthly review meeting with the core committee members of road safety. She further said that this is the basic duty of the members of the committee to check the speed of the vehicles.

Those who will not follow the standard of road safety, they must be fined and in the serious cases sent to jail also. The members must check the driver who is driving under drink, and must check through a breathalyzer. If the driver is found guilty than must be fined.

She said that the good coordination must be with the health, transport and road construction department. The DC further said that when the road safety team visits the accidental spot then public representative, circle officers and block development officers must be there.

She has emphasized on the target of road safety. The core committee members must be alert to minimize the road accident in the district. The committee members must be instructed to the contractor to fix the safety board before the bridges and road constructions.

The committee members must be given direction so that all the technical aspects must be maintained, so that the accident can be reduced in the future.

In the meeting District Transport Officer Vijay Kumar, sadar SDO Vidhya Bhusan Kumar, trainee additional collector Shatabdi Majumdar and civil surgeon were present.
