RLD gaining strength due to public support: Jayant

National president of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Jayant Chaudhary said that his party was gaining strength due to public support as the outfit has been highlighting public issues and has been fighting for the concern of farmers, poor, dalits, labourers, youth and people of downtrodden class. Chaudhary said this while chairing the RLD’s national executive council meeting at the Constitutional Club in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Sharing the information, RLD national secretary Anil Dubey said that the national executive council members expressed their concern over the growing economic crisis and hike in fuel prices and cooking gas which had added to the burden on the middle class and the poor across the country.

“There are irregularities in recruitment for government jobs and the future of youths is at stake,” he said. The RLD also decided to extend support to students who have been protesting and demanding two extra chances for taking competitive exams and relaxation of two years in the eligibility criterion for different competitive exams. The RLD chief stressed on the need of increasing the participation of youths, women, people of SC / ST category in the RLD.

A committee has been formed to study the results of the UP assembly elections and to make the party more organised and strong. The committee will tour all across the state and will present its report by April 15. To improve the organizational structure of the RLD, a three member committee has been formed. The committee has been named as organisation improving committee and will consist of three RLD leaders - Baba Hardev, KP Chaudhry and Chaudhary Praveen Singh. The committee will prepare a roadmap for change in organisation structure on the basis of the election review report.

National convenor of Team RLD, Anupam Mishra informed that the RLD brass had decided to contest the municipal elections in the state and also Assembly elections in Rajasthan. “The next meeting of the RLD executive council has been called on April 24 to discuss party membership drive and organisation structure issue,” Mishra said.
