Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday arrested Budhlada Forest Range Officer Sukhwinder Singh for causing financial loss to the state exchequer by committing embezzlement of Rs 45.69 lakhs for preparing cemented tree guards and Rs seven lakhs for Bamboo tree guards in connivance with Mansa’s then Divisional Forest Officer Amit Chauhan and others. The accused prepared fake bills of bogus firms and withdrew the money by diverting government funds to different bank accounts, said the Vigilance Bureau spokesperson.
