Poor people have been denied Feb ration: BJP

Monday, 28 February 2022 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said lakh of poor families have not received their ration for February month due to "lackadaisical" attitude of the Delhi Government.

Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that Delhi's ration distribution system has been crippling for over a year but the last three months have been extremely disappointing for beneficiaries.

As the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been entangled in electoral politics in five poll-bound states for the last three months and due to it, poor people in Delhi have been denied their February ration be it of normal PDS or of PMs free ration quota. Ration is not reaching to the poor in Delhi on time as Arvind Kejriwal Government has constantly failed to pick its ration quota from central godowns on time that is 10 days before start of month, he said."Centre issued Delhi Government the ration for February on 20th January but the Kejriwal Government occupied in state elections had no trucks to lift it.

The Kejriwal Government has failed to float tenders for trucks to pick and deliver ration supplies for the last over a year. Every month they pick and distribute ration to dealers by managing trucks privately," he said.

Delhi BJP Spokesperson has said that lakh of poor labour class people are every month forced to buy expensive ration.

"Though all poor are unhappy but those registered under One Nation One Ration Card scheme as the ration in their parent state has been distributed and here they aren't getting it. The fear their ration card might be cancelled for not taking ration regularly," he added.
