The Supreme Court Collegium has reportedly recommended transfer of Orissa High Court Chief Justice S Muralidhar as Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India UU Lalit.
Justice Muralidhar was appointed as the Chief Justice of Orissa HC on December 31, 2020. He succeeded Justice Mohammad Rafiq as the 32nd Chief Justice of Orissa HC.
The post of Chief Justice of Madras HC has fallen vacant with the retirement of Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari on September 12.
