The increase in the number of minor forest produce (MFP) getting Minimum Support Price is bringing prosperity in the lives of forest dwellers of Chhattisgarh.
Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar said in a statement on Sunday that the number of MFPs at support price in Chhattisgarh has been increased from 7 to 65 in a span of just three years.
The new inclusion of MFPs include 'Harra Bal', 'Mahua Phool Kacha' (Food Grade), 'Jhadu Chhind' (Grass), Kodo, Kutki (Black), Kutki (Brown), Ragi, 'Amchur' (white) and 'Amchur' (brown).
The support price of Harra Bal has been fixed at Rs 30, Mahua flower raw (food grade) at Rs 10, Broom 'Chhind' (grass) at Rs 15, Kodo at Rs 30, Kutki (black) at Rs 30, Kutki (brown) at Rs 30, Ragi at Rs 33.77, Amchur (white) at Rs 120 and Amchur (brown) at Rs 80 per kg.
