District Bhopal JMFC Court Ankita Shrivastava has sentenced molestation accused Ravindra Baggan (30) for making obscene comments on a woman in a 9 year old case under section 354 (a) and 509 of the IPC with imprisonment of 1 year and fine of Rs 100.
ADPO Manoj Tripathi told that on March 26, 2013, when the accused was going to the clinic with his mother to take medicine, the accused Ravindra Baggan, resident of Rahul Nagar, was found near the statue of Ambedkar Park and started passing lewd comments and made obscene gestures and threatened her that he would not leave him and her mother opposed accused remained on the stop and became violent to kill. The victim along with his mother lodged a complaint with the Kamla Nagar police station.
In her complaint the victim stated that she was not acquainted with the accused but he tried to talk to her and the accused continued to harass and tease her and on the day of incident when she was on her way to shop with her mother the accused tried to stop her. He molested and passed lewd comments.
Based on the complaint and after the preliminary investigation, police registered a case of molestation and booked him under sections 354(a) and 509 of the IPC.
The victim was a student at the time of incident and the accused was arrested by the police and was produced in court. The accused was jailed and later he was granted bail.
During the hearing it was found that claims made by the victim were true and the accused used to tease her whenever she would venture out of the house.
