Nishatpura police have registered a case of sexual assault against a man who married the victim only to evade police arrest; police have started search for the accused.

According to the police, a 31-year-old woman, originally from Umraoganj, Raisen, was looking for a job in the year 2017 after graduating.

She met accused Abhishek Sharma, a resident of Sukhisevaniya. Abhishek told the woman that he can get her a job. Abhishek informed the girl about getting a job in a private college. The woman went for a job interview. She got the job and thereafter she started living in Awadhpuri area of Bhopal. During this, Abhishek kept on meeting her every day.

On December 17, 2017, he took the victim with him to Sanjeev Nagar and when the woman protested and threatened to complain to the police, Abhishek said that he would marry her soon.

Abhishek was a salesman in a private company at that time. Police have arrested him. On December 27, 2017, nine days after the rape, Abhishek took the woman to the Arya Samaj temple and got married by intimidating the victim. After marriage, the woman told Abhishek that you have married forcibly, so she will not live together.

On this, Abhishek also got the marriage registered in the Municipal Corporation the next day. After this, the woman started pressurizing him to live together. The victim refused to live together.

On this the husband kept on extorting money by threatening to defame her and took Rs 3.20 lakh from the victim. Recently, the girl started pressuring for divorce which accused denied. Then the woman reached the police station and filed a case against him.
