Taking action in connection with the electrocution of two female elephants in Keonjhar district, the local RCCF has suspended a Forester and a Forest Guard in this connection.
Sadar Range Forester Pradeep Barik and Forest Guard Mitrabhanu Nayak have been placed under suspension on the charge of dereliction of duty.
Besides, a show-cause notice has been issued to the electricity department.
Notably, the two elephants were electrocuted in the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra under the Sadar Forest Range in the district on August 25. The elephants were trying to eat tree branches when their trunks touched the low-lying electric wire leading to their death.
