A five-day cultural festival titled ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Kaal Ki Shubh Vela: Kalakaron-Shilpakaron ka Mela’ concluded at the Centre for Cultural Resource and Training (CCRT) in the Capital where 75 CCRT scholarship holders, alumni and fellows gave performances.
CCRT is an autonomous body of the Union Ministry of Culture engaged in seeking out talent in arts, music and culture and awarding scholarships to trainees and trainers.
The event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and India’s rich heritage, art and culture were showcased. At the concluding ceremony, chief guest, Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, lauded CCRT’s efforts in putting up the extravaganza.
“Post the pandemic trauma we thought this spring should bring something special when we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of India’s independence which Prime Minister Modi has termed as the ‘Amrit Kaal’. Hence we named the festival ‘Azadi ke Amrit Kaal ki Shubh Vela: Kalakaron-Shilpkaron ka Mela,” CCRT Director Rishi Vashist said.
The most scintillating performance was by Korok Biswas, a CCRT scholarship holder who suffers from Down Syndrome, and has earned several laurels including those from the President and Prime Minster. He is an exponent in Gaudiya Nritya.
