Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said that he had talked to Union Minister for External Affairs, S Jaishankar, and had urged him for bringing back students hailing from Chhattisgarh stranded in Ukraine.
Talking to reporters at Swami Vivekanand Airport, Raipur while leaving for New Delhi, Baghel said the Union Minister assured him for safe return of the Chhattisgarh students from the war-torn country.
“As the situation remained grim, I had spoken to the External Affairs Minister and discussed the safe return of Chhattisgarh students being stuck in Ukraine”, Baghel stated.
The Chhattisgarh government had recently appointed Ganesh Mishra, Liaison Officer, Chhattisgarh Bhawan, New Delhi, as the nodal officer to help people of state on issues related to Ukraine. He will coordinate with the Centre over the issue.
