The state-wide first phase of national intensive pulse polio campaign will begin from February 27 with a purpose to administer the pulse polio drops to 36,35,940 children aged zero- 5 years.
Chhattisgarh State Immunization Officer Dr V R Bhagat on Saturday said the campaign will run for three days. On the first day, February 27 the polio drops will be administered at booth level. It will be followed by door to door visits on February 28 and March 1, an official communication said.
He said a total of 14,504 booths have been set up in the state in urban and rural areas. The timing of booths will be from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.
A total of 29,008 vaccine teams will be deployed at the polio booths, having 58,015 vaccine workers. The vaccinators are basically health workers, mitanins, Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers.
