The first phase of a Chhattisgarh-wide intensive pulse polio campaign was held on Sunday. The target is to administer pulse polio drops to 36,35,940 children aged 0 to 5 years.
Chhattisgarh State Immunization Officer Dr V.R. Bhagat said the campaign began on Sunday at all districts where public representatives and Collectors jointly administered the pulse polio to the children.
A total of 14,504 booths were set up in the state comprising urban and rural areas.
He added that on the second and third day (February 28 and March 1) door to door visits will be carried out to cover those children who missed the vaccination on Sunday.
