Haryana CM honours Hisar student, among others

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday honoured Hissar student Bhavna Saini, who got 485 marks out of 500 marks in the written examination in the secondary examination year-2021, was awarded with Dr Kalpana Chawla Award along with a citation, gold medal and cash amount of Rs 51,000. Haryana School Education Board Officer Santosh Kumari was also awarded a citation for securing first, second, and third position in various Paralympic competitions from time to time. Apart from this, Ishant, son of Board’s employee Vikas Kumar, who was selected in the Class VIII at Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, was also honoured by the Chief Minister with a citation.

 

100 examined in Manimajra health camp

Chandigarh: As many as 100 people were examined during a free health checkup camp at Manimajra on Sunday. Chandigarh Mayor Sarabjeet Kaur inaugurated the camp which was organized by RWA Modern Housing Complex in association with Max Hospital, Mohali. During the occasion, Max Hospital also distributed first aid kits. Brig Dr HS Bhatoe, Senior Director Neurosurgery, Max Hospital, addressing a health talk on ‘how to keep the brain healthy with growing age’, said that making a few lifestyle changes can help keep your brain healthy well into old age and may prevent or slow the onset of neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

 

Haryana CM expresses grief over death of his aunt Mayavanti

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday attended the ‘Rasampagri’ ceremony of his brother Charanjit Khattar’s mother-in-law, Mayavanti, at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Gurdwara in Bawani Khera town of Bhiwani district and offered his condolences. Mayavanti left for her heavenly abode at the age of 90 on February 19. During the condolence meeting, the Chief Minister said that Mayavanti was a woman of religious views and always showed great interest towards social work. She will also always be remembered for her good and kind nature.

 

JAC delegation meets Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment

Mohali: A delegation of the Joint Association of Colleges (JAC) on Sunday met the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Varinder Kumar at New Delhi. JAC’s co-chairman and Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) president Dr Anshu Kataria led the delegation and apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by unaided colleges of Punjab regarding Post Matric Scholarship (PMS). The Minister gave a patient hearing and called the concerned officials for early resolution of problems, said Dr Kataria.
