SBI HANDS OVER RS 30-LAKH INSURANCE CLAIM 

Bhubaneswar: Chief General Manager of State Bank of India Chander Shekhar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Saumendra Priyadarshi have handed over a cheque for Rs 30 lakh to Swarnaprava Sahu, the widow of late Havildar Saroj Pradhan, who died in an accident while discharging his duties. Late Pradhan had availed Police Salary Package Account with the SBI. So, the family members could get the accidental insurance claim of Rs 30 lakh. This is one of the many advantages offered under the Police Salary Package Accounts, the SBI CGM said.

 

I DIES, 5 INJURED IN BUS-TRUCK COLLISION IN NAYAGARH 

Nayagarh: A person was killed on the spot and at least five others were seriously injured when a passenger bus collided head on with a marble-laden truck at Itamati in Nayagarh district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Amar Chand. The bus was heading from Bhawanipatna to Bhubaneswar.Those who were critically injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital.

 

IFFCO DONATES CATTLE FEED TO K’PADA COW SHELTER 

Paradip: The IFFCO Paradeep Unit distributed two tonnes of cattle feed to the Sri Sri Siddha Baldev Jew Cow Welfare Samiti shelter in Kendrapada. As there are over 60 cows in the shelter and it was quite difficult for the Samiti to arrange fodder for them, they had requested IFFCO Director KJ Patel for assistance. A team led by IFFCO Public Relations Officer Prasanna Kumar Beuria reached there and provided the materials.

AGRAWAL SAMAJ KULDEVI FESTIVAL HELD AT BANPUR 

Banpur:: The Agrawal Samaj’s Kuldevi, Goddess Laxmi came in a Rath from Agroha and the deity was welcomed by the Banpur Marawadi Samaj with Arati. The chariot was taken round Banpur town and to the Nehru Seva Sangh. Sangh secretary Sarojini Dash and treasurer Omprakash Agrawal offered prayers to the goddess along with hundreds of children and Banpur Marwari Samaj members Om Agrawl, advocate Kailash Agrawl, Sunil Agrawl, Gayatri Devi, Saroj Devi, Meera Devi, Simple Agrawal, Jamuna Agrawal, coordinator of the programme engineer Munu Agrawal and Annapurna Agrawal.

 

DISASTER MGMT TRAINING FOR NYKS AT BN NDRF MUNDALI 

Athagarh: Thirty volunteers of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan (NYKS) third batch are being trained at 03rd Bn NDRF Mundali from November 28 to December 3. The participants from Erasama block, Jagatsingpur district, are under training in fields such as their role in flood situations, earthquake and cyclone under the supervision of NDRF Deputy Commandant Dhananjay Kumar.
