The Department of Pharmacology organized a Materiovigilance sensitization program with hands-on training for Nursing officers of AIIMS, Bhopal on Thursday from 2pm-5pm at AIIMS, Bhopal.
The program was graced by the Executive Director Professor Dr. Ajai Singh, Dean Academics, Medical superintendent who encouraged the health care professionals to contribute towards more reporting for adverse events associated with medical devices like orthopedic implants, coronary stents etc.
This session with hands-on experience was organized to impart actual training on reporting of adverse events associated with medical devices and to create awareness and sensitization. The sensitization program intended to train health care professionals for vigilance and alertness for any adverse event suspected for medical devices, which is very important for every patient's and user's safety as well and also contributing to safety of Indian population at a large scale.
The three departments- Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Radiodiagnosis & imaging with maximum Medical Device Adverse Event (MDAE) reporting in the last year were felicitated on this occasion by the Executive Director Professor Dr Ajai Singh, chief guest of the program. A quiz was organized too on this occasion which is an interesting way of learning the concepts and recollecting the facts.
