AAP continues protest, seeks Saxena removal

Wednesday, 31 August 2022 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday continued their protest throughout the day inside Delhi Legislative Assembly demanding Lieutenant Governor’s Vinai Kumar Saxena removal till the CBI and ED investigation is completed.

The AAP spokesperson, Saurabh Bhardwaj, questioned the role of the erstwhile Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman, not being investigated in the alleged Rs 1,400 crore scam at KVIC. He asked why his name was not mentioned in the FIR and further termed this to be a direct case of money laundering.

“The allegations were directly leveled against the Saxena, despite this, the CBI did not investigate him nor was his name registered in the FIR.  This scam was committed when he was the chairman of Khadi Village Industries.  In such a situation, the role of Saxena should be investigated through CBI and he should be arrested,” said Bhardwaj.

“The AAP has answered every so-called question and false allegation of the BJP.  Now BJP should answer why Prime Minister, Narenda Modi waived the loans of his rich friends by imposing GST on milk and curd,” said Bhardwaj.

“Why was the role of the then Chairman, Saxena not investigated in the Rs 1,400 crore scam in Khadi Village Industries?  Why was his name not mentioned in the FIR?,” he questioned.

“The AAP demands that a case be registered against Saxena and an investigation by CBI-ED.  Until his role in the scam is not ascertained, an important constitutional post like that of the LG should not be occupied by him and he should resign,” Bhardwaj added.
