AAP alleges corruption in construction of underbridge

Monday, 25 July 2022 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

AAP MLA from Rajinder Nagar constituency Durgesh Pathak on Sunday claimed that the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has sanctioned a bridge with a budget of Rs 55 crore in 2006, but despite spending Rs 87 crores the bridge hasn't been completed till the date.

Addressing the media, AAP MLA and MCD In-charge Pathak said, "The railway underbridge was to be built by 2010 in the Sadar Bazar area of Kishanganj, Delhi, but it started construction only in 2022.

Corruption is taking place under the nose of PM Modi, so far Rs 87 crores have been spent on a bridge budgeted for 55 crores. The bridge should be built as soon as possible and the corrupt officers should be arrested as soon as possible." "Today I am going to expose such corruption of the BJP ruled MCD which underlines BJP's entire tenure under PM Modi.

The corruption under our beloved PM Modi seems to only grow over and over. PM Modi's BJP-ruled MCD is betraying the people of Delhi.  Whatever work MCD announces Delhi, ends up becoming a victim of corruption," he said. "Back in 2006, when there was talk of holding the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, many development projects were sanctioned in Delhi.

At the same time, a railway underbridge was to be built in the area of Sadar Bazar of Kishanganj located in the Wazirpur assembly. The bridge was completed in 2006 and was to be inaugurated in 2010.

A four box bridge was to be built, but in 2022, work is going on only on the first box. The other interesting thing is that the cost of the bridge was fixed at Rs 55 crore, but so far Rs 87 crore has been spent on it," he claimed.“This matter needs to be investigated. It is my humble request that this bridge should be completed as soon as possible.  Also, those who have gobbled money in the project should be arrested as soon as possible,” Pathak concluded.
