Sociopolitical leader and Smt. Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) chairman Suparno Satpathy on October 29 took to Twitter to appraise Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw about the long pending request for plying Vistadome coaches on the rail route between Puri and Jharsuguda which covers Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul and Sambalpur cities.
It is to be noted that a request was first made by Satpathy during his tenure as convenor, PMSA-Orissa, MoPR from 2007 to 2012. However, the request has been pending ever since the tenure of Lalu Yadav, Mallikarjun Kharge and Suresh Prabhu as Rail Ministers of India.
Sources said that a feasibility report is awaited at the Rail Minister’s office on the issue. Satpathy in his tweet also highlighted the rail route for better understanding of the route. Notably, the Indian Railway introduced Vistadome trains to promote tourism. These trains help to connect different tourist destinations across the country. The modern features of the train are meant to give comfort and easiness to travellers.
