The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached immovable properties worth Rs 31.15 crore belonging to Pushpanjali Realms and Infratech Limited and wife of its Director Rajpal Walia on money laundering charges in a cheating case.
The ED initiated money laundering investigation on the basis of an FIR dated July 8, 2020 registered by Rajpur Police Station, Dehradun against the firm Pushpanjali Realms and Infratech Limited, its directors and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and duping the innocent home buyers after taking advance payments for booking of flats in respect of construction projects of the Company. The ED probe revealed that the advance booking amount received from the flat buyers were diverted by the Directors of the company for other purposes and invested the same in purchase of properties in their name and in the name of their family members, the ED said in a statement.
In a separate case, the ED has provisionally attached assets worth Rs 2.42 crore belonging to Naresh Kumar Sheokand, former District Revenue Officer (DRO) of Panchkula, Haryana and Shamshad, middleman on money laundering charges in a cheating case.
The ED initiated money laundering investigation against Sheokand and others on the basis of an FIR registered by State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana and CBI, New Delhi under various sections of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act for criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and criminal misconduct of public servant.
