Four youths were killed while reportedly taking selfies on a railway track near Basai-Dhankot railway station in Gurugram on Tuesday evening, the police said. Police said that as per an initial probe, it has emerged that the four were busy taking a selfie on the tracks when they were hit by the train.
The incident took place at 5.15 pm when Jan Shatabdi Express (12066), which was going from Sarai Rohilla in Delhi to Ajmer, was crossing Basai-Dhankot railway station which hit the victims.
The deceased are yet to be identified, said police. The government railway police (GRP) investigating the incident said all four died on the spot."According to people, who were present nearby at the spot, they had come on a scooter and after parking it near the railway line, they were taking a selfie on their phone when they were hit by the train," a police officer, requesting anonymity, said.
Police said they were trying to trace the families of the victims.
