Work on elevated road at Ratu Road to begin this Nov

Wednesday, 30 June 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Desk has been cleared for construction of an elevated flyover from Piska More to Zakir Hussain Park and Road Over bridge (RoB) at Nagri, as the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has given technical approval for construction of two major road projects which will upscale road infrastructure facilities in State Capital.

BJP Parliamentarian from Ranchi, Sanjay Seth sharing the information said that as NHAI has given technical approval for two major projects, work on these two major projects will gain momentum.

He said that the tendering process for these two major projects will commence in July/August, while the work on these two projects is likely to start by November this year. Seth in this connection, recently had discussion with senior NHAI officials in Delhi.

Seth said that the elevated flyover from Piska Mor to Zakir Hussain Park will connect two roads — one from Gumla side and other from Kuru side.

Once constructed the elevated four lane flyover will be of 2.5 km in length and will be on a single pillar. Adequate lighting arrangements will be made at the top and below of the flyover ensuring the safety and protection of commuters.

Seth said that the biggest advantage of Ratu Road flyover is that it will be constructed within the space available which means that no demolition work will be carried out for road widening. For this, a diverted traffic plan has also been prepared. There is also a plan to build a junction under this elevated road. The elevated flyover will be constructed within two years from the date of tender.

Meanwhile, the residents of Ratu Road area have welcomed the decision of construction of the flyover. Prem Prakash, a resident of Ratu Road area said, “Now as the NHAI has given its technical approval for the elevated project we are hopeful that the flyover will be constructed soon. The coming up of the flyover will ease traffic snarls on the busy Ratu Road area.”

Apart from approval for elevated flyover at Ratu Road, the NHAI has also given its consent for construction of Road Overbridge at Nagri.

The fourlane, Nagri ROB will be 700 metre in length and it too will be constructed within two years.

The tender process will commence in July/August and work will start from November this year.  Adequate lighting arrangements will be made above this ROB as well.

The MP said that the flyover on Tilta Chowk (Ring Road) was also discussed with the officials of NHAI. The flyover will be opened for the general public soon.

The MP apprised the officials about the problem being faced by the villagers of Chaibasa near Chowka on Ranchi-Tata road. Officials said that the NHAI is considering constructing an underpass at Tilta Chowk too.

The MP said that if the underpass is constructed, accidents will come down, apart from making traffic movement smooth for villagers.
