A 27-year-old widow was stripped naked and paraded in a nondescript village of Bokaro district over an alleged love affair with a married man from her village, police said on Monday.
According to the police, the incident occurred in Ghoinchatola villager under the Marafari police station in Bokaro district on Friday night. An FIR has been lodged at a local police station on Sunday.
The victim has lodged an FIR against Jagatpaul Oraon, Tarapanna, Ram Mohan Oraon, Sunia Devi, and Jayanti Khalkho, all the residents of the same village, police said.
In her complaint, the victim stated that she was alone at home on Friday night. Suddenly all accused persons rushed to her house, started abusing and forcibly took her out, tore her clothes and stripped her naked.
“They paraded me in the village’s lane and later tied me to a Kadam tree on the crossroad of the village,” her complaint to the police read.
After the intervention of the elderly people of the village, the victim was set free after few hours.
Meanwhile, another woman, a resident of the same village, has lodged a counter FIR against the victim, accusing her of having an extramarital affair with her husband.
No arrests have been made yet. Police are investigating the matter, said OC of Marafari Police station.
