Hanumanganj police have nabbed a vehicle-lifter and recovered a truck and two two-wheelers worth Rs 5.5 lakh from his possession on Sunday.
After receiving information of suspect involved in stealing of two wheelers Hanumanganj police acted swiftly and detained a person who was identified as Raja Mewati alias Amir.
In the investigation police have recovered one truck and two two wheelers. The truck was stolen from Sagar while two wheelers were recovered from state capital.
Truck bearing registration number MP15G2825 worth Rs 4 lakh and Hero Honda CBZ bearing registration number MP04MV 8786 and Activa bearing registration number MP04SN 5629. On the basis of information provided by accused two places were raided and stolen vehicles were recovered.
Accused hold past crime record and has been booked for serious crimes by different police stations of state capital. The stolen vehicles were stolen in the past one year and details regarding aides who have helped accused in vehicle lifting and disposing stolen vehicles are under investigation.
Meanwhile, miscreants targeted a shop at Landmark market and escaped with electrical goods worth lakhs of rupees on Sunday. Chola Mandir police have started investigation. Police said that the victim, Mohammad Asim found that shutter of his shop was broken and goods burgled.
A complaint was lodged by the victim with the police and in his complaint, he stated that he left after closing shop in the night and when he returned to open shop valuables were found burgled.
Copper wire and electrical goods worth lakhs of rupees were burgled. Based on the complaint and after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
