To ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) have taken steps to provide permanent connection to 20,000 agriculture pumps.
The 79 power transformers' capacity has also been increased to bear the additional load during peak hours, an official statement said on Monday. The agriculture irrigation power connections have touched 5.86 lakhs, out of which 1.23 lakh pumps are temporary. These will soon be made permanent. In the current fiscal, the applications received for irrigation power connection was 35,161 and 20,000 have been energised. In the current year, 76 transformers across the state have been upgraded. Last year's number stood at 30.The consumption of power this year has reached 4,950 MW, up from 4,700 MW last year.
