Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said the development of tribal regions was his top priority. Money will not be a hurdle for development works, he said.
Baghel was speaking here to a delegation of people from Pakhanjur, Antagarh and Koyalibeda areas of Kanker district.
Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board Chairman Chandan Kashyap and MLA Anoop Nag were present, an official communication said.
Baghel said the government was committed to ensuring rights over water, forest and land to the tribal community.
Besides forest rights lease, the government has taken several initiatives in forest areas to provide employment to the tribal communities through collection and processing of forest produce.
All the demands of the delegation including setting up paddy procurement centres, fair price shops, godowns, colleges and hostels in Pakhanjur, Antagarh and Koyalibeda areas will be met, he said.
The Chief Minister announced Rs 20 lakhs each to construct four Sarv Adivasi Samaj buildings in Pakhanjur, Koyalibeda, Antagarh and Amabeda.
Likewise, Rs 20 lakhs each were sanctioned for a community building for Bengali Samaj in Pakhanjur and a community building for Manjhi Samaj in Gadpratappur in Pakhanjur-Koyalibeda areas.
He sanctioned Rs 1 lakh to Santosh Kirtaniya of Bandegaon in Pakhanjur for the publication of literature written by him.
