Training programme to enhance value of Bamboo products begins

A week long training programme meant to enhance value to the Bamboo and Ringal products made by various entrepreneurs started at Doiwala block of Dehradun on Saturday.

Organised by Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC)  in association with Saraswati Jankalyan Evam Swarojgar Sanstha, the training programme is part of GBPIHED sponsored project. Inaugurating the training programme, Chief Guest Senior FRI scientist Dr Santan Barthwal informed the gathering about preparing nurseries of Bamboo and Ringal saplings.

Dr Manju Sundriyal referred to efforts that can be undertaken towards ensuring value to the  ringal products which she said can be done by introducing new designs to the products. USARC Director Prof MPS Bisht stressed on usage of local resources for enhancing the project value.

Local Gram Pradhan Neha assured all support to such training programmes.

As many as 30 women entrepreneurs are taking part in the training programme.
