Traditional Natakala performed at MPSTM

Years old traditional theatre form Natakala was brilliantly performed on Saturday at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum.   Natakala was performed by Pawan Singh and group, Rajasthan.

Natakala is one of the ancient arts, it is said that thousands of years ago, the Nats got knowledge of this art as a boon from God. The folk of the Nat community used to perform this art from village to village and this was their means of livelihood. In this art, there are many tricks by artists - jumping from the middle of the fireball, walking on the rope, showing a variety of tricks and balancing the dholak from a child artist in a special costume. But to dance and entertain the audience by making comedic gestures etc.

At the Natakala performance,  Pawan Singh, aDhruv Singh jumoed from the circle of fire, danced with the rim in both hands and head, Tejpal Singh performed Kachchi Mare dance and Balram Singh walked on the rope. The performances enthralled the audience by showing a variety of tricks.

During the performance, the audience was encouraged by cheering several times.

Pawan Singh has been exhibiting this art since childhood, he has exhibited this art in many places in the country and also abroad, which are prominent in America, London, Paris, Germany, Australia, Switzerland.
