Sunday, 31 October 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Police in Chhattisgarh on Saturday booked the owners and directors of a manufacturing unit after the death of three workers in Raipur.

Raipur Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told The Pioneer that Sanjay Sharma, Sunil Sharma and Manoj Sharma have been booked under the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence and further probe is underway.

On Friday, three workers -- Purshottam Sahu (28), Netram Sahu (59) and Jogeshwar Uike (40) of Shri Sharma Industries -- died in a hospital during treatment.

They fell unconscious while cleaning a tank at a ‘gudakhu’ manufacturing unit located at Sadar Bazar.

Prima facie, they died after inhaling some poisonous gases or due to suffocation, Agrawal said.
