The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) conducted a ‘Rapid Response Survey’ (RRS) to assess the success of distribution of dry ration from anganwadis to the entitled beneficiaries i.e.pregnant women, lactating mothers and children below six years of age.
The survey was organised in collaboration with not-for-profit organisation ‘Indus Action’. The survey was done to ensure that beneficiaries registered in anganwadis are receiving the Take Home Ration (THR) besides other benefits under the ‘Integrated Child Development Services’ (ICDS) and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ (PMMVY) schemes, the department said in a statement.
With random sample of 1267 beneficiaries, the survey was conducted in 12 areas of Delhi, namely: Aman Vihar, Chandini Chowk, Rohini, Shakurpur, Okhla and Patparganj, Bhati Mines, Babarpur, Nazafgarh, Burari, Shiv Vihar and Seemapuri.
DCPCR recorded the details of the beneficiaries contacted to understand the exact details and concerns of the people.
In case a beneficiary is having any issues with the THR distribution such as not receiving the ration or bad quality of the ration or any related to ICDS and PMMVY, they can use the helpline to report grievances.
The helpline number (011-41193903) is operational 24x7 and is being maintained by DCPCR itself and the complaints are escalated to the concerned officers.
Rajendra Pal Gautam, Minister for Social Welfare, SC & ST said, “the Department is determined to achieve the objective of eradicating malnutrition from Delhi and it is the collective responsibility of all the stakeholders, whose efforts are indispensable in realising the Delhi Government’s goal of malnutrition-free Delhi.”
