The State registered 197 new Covid-19 positive cases in 19 districts and the State pool on Monday, with which the total tally increased to 10,48,880,.
The new patients included 25 children in the age group of 0 to18 years.
Notably, the State had recorded 191 cases on Sunday.
Of the fresh cases, 115 were detected from quarantine and 82 local contacts.
Khordha district recorded the day’s highest 94 cases followed by Sambalpur with 16 and Sundargarh 12,
The district which recorded less than 10 cases were Mayurbhanj nine, Jajpur eight, Cuttack six, Jharsuguda five, Dhenkanal four, Bhadrak, Deogarh and Nayagarh three each, Angul, Bhadrak, Boudh , Jagatsinghpur and Khordha two each and Barh, Ganjam, Keonjhar and Rayagada one each.
Besides, 22 cases were detected from the State Pool.
The active cases stood at 2,333. Two more persons succumbed to the disease in the State, pushing the total death toll to 8,412.
Both the fatalities were reported from Bargarh district. However, 221 person recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 10,38,306.
State Capital Bhubaneswar registered 68 of the State’s 197 cases, with which the total tally in the city rose to 1,21,236. The active cases were 1,295.
Notably, 86 cases had been recorded in the city on Sunday.
