A youth attacked and critically injured a girl at Tulasipur village under the Baghamari police station in Khordha district on Tuesday following the latter's rejection of his love proposal. As per the report, the accused identified as Dasarathi Behera was stalking the victim Laxmipriya Nayak (30) of his village for the past few months.Though Laxmipriya repeatedly rejected his proposal continuously he never stopped stalking her. The accused had even misbehaved with her.Based on a complaint to the Baghamari police in connection with the incident Dasarathi was also arrested and sent to jail. However, after being released on bail he again proposed to her and Laxmipriya rejected his advances, in a fit of rage, Dasarathi took out a chopper and attacked the victim critically wounding her. She was initially rushed to Banki hospital and then shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack due to her worsening condition. Police are carrying out raids to nab the culprit, who is absconding after the incident.
