A fresher’s party was organised at Shivalik College of Engineering in Dehradun to welcome the new students on Monday. The director of the college Prahlad Singh welcomed the students and chief guests in event and shared his life experiences with them. It was a colourful affair with several dance performances from students including folk dance, solo dance and group dance performances. Students also participated in competition of ramp walk, group singing, mimicry and poetry at the event. The students who won in each category were rewarded at end of event by chief guest Aman Sharma, title winner of Mr Uttarakhand. The new students Anees Samantha and Ayushi were selected as Mr and Miss fresher respectively. The vice chairman (VC) of college Ajay Kumar said that such events help students to hone skills that help them in their future. He welcomed new students to college and wished them best for their future.
