Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that more work is done in the field of infrastructure, more employment opportunities will be created and the process of development of the State will get momentum. Top priority should be given to building better roads wherever there is need and there is more traffic. It is necessary to develop two models with regard to the levy of toll on vehicles. Generally, there should be separate arrangements for short distance vehicles and long distance commercial vehicles. Chouhan said that except the vehicles related to agriculture use, all other vehicles should be considered for taking toll.
Chouhan was addressing the meeting of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited at Mantralaya. Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargava, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil and Principal Secretary Public Works Neeraj Mandloi were present.
Information about the progress of ongoing works on Jabalpur-Damoh road, Nasrullaganj-Kausni, Seoni-Balaghat, Ratlam-Jhabua, Harda-Khandwa, Beohari-Shahdol, Pipariya-Narsinghpur, Rewa-Beohari, Hoshangabad-Timarni, Hoshangabad-Pipariya and Chhatarpur -Rajnagar road was given in the meeting.
It was informed that appointments were made on 10 posts of Manager Mechanical on the basis of preference of ranking of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2021) by Road Development Corporation. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding environmental protection expert, internal auditor and the projects funded by Asian Development Bank.
